First Class! Jesse Spencer...

Neighbours‘ Billy Kennedy is a busy boy, with a heavy filming schedule (not to mention school exams). But we cornered him to ask about the first time he did a few things…
First crush…
At school in 1998. It was a girl with red hair, although I didn’t speak to her – I was too shy. I had crushes on teachers at school too, well… the young ones, who are about 25.
First kiss…
It was at a party about two years ago, I was walking around and getting a bit bored and just decided to kiss someone. I just grabbed this girl from school, more or less. And yeah, she liked it!
First time I asked a girl on a date…
It was the same girl I kissed at the party. We only went to a couple of parties. We didn’t have a chance to go anywhere properly. Blub!
First time I was dumped…
Actually, I’ve never been dumped. But a year ago I dumped someone. It wasn’t easy, I just rung up and said, “I don’t want to go out with you anymore!” She just said, “Yeah, I’ve been thinking the same thing!” And that was that.
First time I didn’t do my homework…
I always do my homework. All the time! I think you should get it done to just get it out of the way.
First time I played truant…
I had to go to an orchestra practice, lasting the whole day. Instead I just went into town and walked around on my own. I didn’t have to think of an excuse because no-one ever asked. I sometimes wag (play truant), then tell them I was filming on Neighbours, hehee! But don’t tell anyone! (Oops, Jesse, looks like we’ve rumbled you – Ed!)
First time I watched Neighbours…
It would have been two years ago when my sister was watching it. I’ve never watched it religiously or anything and don’t watch it much now, either.
First ever words on Neighbours...
“Did we have to get here so early…?” It took me about five seconds to learn.
First time someone asked for an autograph…
I was in the Neighbours car park with Brett Blewitt, who plays Brett Stark. Some kids came up to me and asked for my signature. My first show hadn’t even been on telly yet but they still knew who I was, yet they didn’t recognise Brett, who’s been on for ages.
First time I saw myself on telly…
It was on Good Morning Australia (like Britain’s GMTV). I sang a song called Danny Boy and it was just awful. I must have been only 13, so it’s a bit embarrasing now.
First thing I’ll do when I finish school…
Probably to Queensland on holiday. It won’t be on a school trip though – just with some mates. I’m looking forward to it.
